INSTALLATION GUIDE:
Before You Begin: 1. Prepare a wetting solution by adding 8 drops of mild, non-moisturizing dish detergent (not hand soap) to a 32-oz spray bottle filled with clean water. Mix well. 2. Ensure you have a dust-free work area with enough flat surface to lay out the film for measuring, cutting, and preparation.
Step 1: Measure the height and width of the glass surface. Step 2: Cut the film, leaving an extra 1 inch around all sides for trimming later. Step 3: Thoroughly clean the glass surface to remove any dust, grime, or grease. Step 4: Slowly peel back the liner, thoroughly wetting the static side of the film as you peel. Step 5: Thoroughly spray and soak the glass surface and the static side of the film with the water mixture. Step 6: Pick up the film by the top corners, keeping it straight and level, and place the wet film onto the wet surface. Step 7: Use a squeegee to smooth out the film and press it against the glass, starting from the center and moving outward to push out bubbles and wrinkles. Step 8: Trim the excess film from the edges using a hard card and a razor knife in a smooth, continuous motion.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
How to deal with air bubbles? Use a hard plastic squeegee or card to squeegee out air bubbles and water. If it's difficult, uncover the film, spray more water between the glass and film, and squeegee firmly again.
Why does the film fall off after a while? Ensure the liner has been removed, edges trimmed, and excess water and bubbles squeegeed out. Leave a 1/16" gap around the edges to allow for thermal expansion of the glass.
Can I remove the film at a later stage? Yes, the film is removable and reusable. You can simply peel it off the glass in seconds without any mess.
How to peel off the backing liner? If the liner is hard to separate, place a piece of scotch tape on both sides, fold the tape over to create tabs, and use the tabs to separate the two sides.
