HOW TO INSTALL THE WINDOW FILM:
Before You Begin: 1. Make a wetting solution by adding 8 drops of mild, non-moisturizing dish detergent to a 32-oz. spray bottle filled with clean water. 2. Ensure you have a dust-free work area with enough flat surface to lay out the film.
Step 1: Measure the height and width of the glass surface. Step 2: Cut the film to the dimensions, leaving an extra 1 inch around all sides. Step 3: Thoroughly clean the glass surface to remove any dust, grime, or grease. Step 4: Slowly peel back the liner, wetting the static side of the film as you go. Step 5: Thoroughly spray the glass surface and the static side of the film with the water mixture. Step 6: Pick up the film by the top corners, keeping it straight and level, and place it onto the wet surface. Step 7: Use a squeegee to smooth out the film, pushing out bubbles and wrinkles from the center outwards. Step 8: Trim the excess film from the edges using a hard card and a razor knife.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
How to deal with air bubbles? Use a hard plastic squeegee or card to remove bubbles and water. If needed, uncover the film, spray more water, and squeegee firmly again.
Why does the film fall off after a while? Ensure you have removed the liner, trimmed the edges, and squeegeed out excess water and bubbles. Leave a 1/16" gap around the edges for thermal expansion.
Can I remove the film at a later stage? Yes, the film is removable and reusable. You can peel it off the glass in seconds with no mess.
How to peel off the backing liner? If the liner is hard to see, use scotch tape to create tabs and separate the two sides.
